With over 50% of our youth wanting to pursue careers that are science-based, the apparent conflict between science and faith needs to be discussed. How can a modern-day Christian hold onto biblical truth in a world where science seems to provide all the answers?
This is why Bismarck Science and Faith exists—to help modern-day Christians understand that faith and science do not create an unrealistic conflict, either between science and faith or their personal faith and science. Since God is the author of both His Word and His World, they are in harmony with each other.
Bismarck Science and Faith believes that God has revealed Himself to us through His Creation – “For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity.” We also believe that, through modern scientific study and research, we can have a deeper appreciation for God’s Majesty and Power.
Bismarck Science and Faith strives to share the harmony between Scripture, faith, and science through personal and community outreach. Group meetings and special events focus on how scientific inquiry affirms the God of the Bible. Our approach is to share our beliefs in a non-threatening way and focus on how scientific discovery, seeking to explain what is observed, only affirms the God of the Bible.
We are not affiliated with a specific denomination or church within the Christian community, but do affirm certain Christian values (these are listed on the back of the newsletter).
As such, we also hold different views on Creation and the interpretation of Scripture, such as various forms of Old-Earth Creationism (OEC), Theistic Evolution, and Thomistic Evolution, to name a few. These views are in general agreement with modern scientific theory, especially concerning the age of the Earth and the Universe.
